Taking place on 10th November 2017 from 7pm, Rotten to the Core will take guests on an immersive journey into a world of gluttony, greed and excess.

Culinary design studio Bompas & Parr will present an exploration of what happens when food, money, greed and lust collide, driven by the insatiable demands of our bellies.

Guests will experience a two-hour workshop that weaves a path through evocative sensory experience, ritualistic eating practices (followed by absolution), fortune telling and more.

Set at Block 336, Rotten to the Core will shine a spotlight on a modern-day interpretation of the historical ritual of ‘Sin Eating’ – the practice of consuming a ritual meal in order to absorb the sins of another, recently deceased person to absolve their soul. The masterclass examines the contemporary equivalent that is manifested by and responds to the digital age.

By the end of the evening, guests will have experienced a spirit summoning, consumed bacteria-laden cocktails, and feasted on a mind-manipulative buffet of apples – all just part of Bompas & Parr’s newly launched catering division.
